Golf Channel Just Bought Your Simulator Company: What Full Swing KIT Owners Should Care About

Versant, the Golf Channel parent, is buying Full Swing for $530M. Here is the buyer-side read for KIT owners and shoppers, not the business one.

Bruin Capital bought Full Swing in 2021 for $160M. Versant, the Golf Channel parent, is buying it now for $530M. The deal is expected to close at the end of 2026. CEO Ryan Dotters is staying on. Tiger Woods keeps a 1-2% stake, about $10.6M at the new valuation, which is a decent afternoon.

That is the business story. Here is the buyer-side one.

If you already own a KIT

Nothing changes right now. Your optional $99/yr cloud plan still works. The hardware still throws the same radar numbers. Warranty is still whatever the receipt says.

What to actually watch, in order of how much it would move the value of your box:

If you are shopping right now

The KIT is still the same unit it was a month ago. $4,999, TGL-official, Tiger-endorsed, Trackman-comparable within 1-2% in outdoor testing, with a thinner indoor sim ecosystem than Foresight or Uneekor. The acquisition does not change the accuracy numbers.

It does change the underwriting question. You are now betting on a media-owned roadmap instead of a private-equity-owned one. Historically, media-owned hardware has a mixed record. Golf Channel is not Nokia, but neither was Nokia, once.

If you were going to buy the KIT this weekend, the acquisition is not a reason to stop. It is a reason to pay attention to what the subscription pages look like in six months.

If you are shopping the alternatives

Two units in our catalog make sensible cross-shops, for different reasons:

Neither is TGL-official. Neither is Tiger-endorsed. Neither is about to be owned by Golf Channel. Both are in the archive if you want the full spec sheet.

The bottom line

$530M is a real number and Versant is a real company. Roadmap risk on the KIT is not zero, but it is not urgent. Do not panic-sell your unit. Do not panic-buy one either. Watch what the subscription pages say in Q1 2027.
