Who is behind this

My name is Bill Delmonte. I have played golf my entire life, played it in college, and these days I am an avid backyard golfer, which is a generous way of saying I hit a great many balls into a net at home. Somewhere between those two phases I became the kind of person who reads spec sheets for fun. This site is what happened next.

Why this exists

It started as a shopping problem. I wanted a launch monitor, and I could not find one place that would simply show me every option side by side. What existed was a retailer trying to sell me the thing on the shelf, a review of one unit in isolation, or a forum thread from 2019 arguing about spin. Useful, all of it, but none of it let me compare.

So I built the thing I wanted: one archive, every model, the same fields for each, sorted however you like. Radar and camera, two hundred dollars and seventy thousand, current and long discontinued, all in one table. If you are trying to decide between two boxes, you should be able to put them next to each other and look.

What this site is not

It is not a testing lab. I do not have a robot, a launch monitor of every brand, or a tour van. Nobody here is claiming to have personally measured 136 units, because nobody has. What this is instead is a careful, transparent synthesis of public specs, manufacturer manuals, retailer listings, owner discussion, and independent review coverage, scored consistently so the comparisons actually mean something. The methodology page explains exactly how that works, including where the evidence is thin.

That honesty is the whole point. There are plenty of sites willing to tell you a unit is the best thing ever built. There are fewer willing to tell you the data is thin and you should wait.

Independence

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and the site may earn a commission when you buy through one. That never changes a score or a ranking. No manufacturer pays for placement, gets to review coverage before it goes up, or has any say in the numbers. Plenty of the gear catalogued here earns nothing at all. Bad golfers welcome

One house rule: nobody here is going to make you feel bad about your golf. The gear is taken seriously. The golfer is not required to be. If you are a twenty-handicap who wants to know whether the spin numbers on a six hundred dollar radar unit are trustworthy, you are exactly who this was built for.

Corrections

If a price is stale, a spec is wrong, or a unit is missing, I want to know. The archive gets better every time somebody tells me it is wrong about something. Reach me on the contact page.
