Until recently, buying a camera-based launch monitor between $1,500 and $2,500 meant one answer: a Bushnell Launch Pro at $2,499 plus a $499/yr subscription for the parts that make it a simulator. Two moves changed that. Square Golf opened pre-orders on the Omni at $1,599 with no subscription, four cameras, and indoor and outdoor support. Bushnell added a Silver subscription tier on the Circle B at $199/yr, cutting the software tax by 60% for buyers who do not need the full course library or the GSPro API. Accuracy: proven versus new
The Circle B carries the higher accuracy score (9.5 to the Omni's 8.0), and it earns it as the direct descendant of the Foresight GC3 platform: years of owner data, a track record indoors and out, and the ball-first metric set that made the Launch Pro the default at this price. The Omni is a four-camera photometric unit that has not yet reached owners' hands. Its ceiling looks competitive, but the evidence is thin by definition. If your priority is a number you can trust today, the Circle B has the receipts. If you are comfortable being early on a $1,599 unit, the Omni is the newer, cheaper bet.
Price and the subscription math
The Omni is $900 cheaper up front and requires no subscription, ever. The Circle B's $2,499 hardware is only the down payment: ball data is free, club data plus 5 FSX courses now cost $199/yr on the new Silver tier, and the full 25-course library plus the GSPro API stay on Gold at $499/yr. Over three years, the entry-level Omni sits at $1,599. A Circle B on Silver lands near $3,100. A Circle B on Gold lands near $4,000. That gap is the price of a proven platform and a working software stack; it is real either way.
Features and simulator play
Both units support indoor and outdoor use. The Omni includes an on-device display and works with GSPro, E6 Connect, and Awesome Golf out of the box, with no per-title fees from Square. The Circle B stays inside the Foresight FSX stack for subscribed features, with GSPro support via the Foresight open API only on Gold. If GSPro is a must-have and you do not want to pay $499/yr for it, the Omni is the direct answer. If you want the fuller FSX experience and the metric depth that owners already trust, the Circle B on Silver is the cheaper way in than it used to be.
Who each one is for
- Square Golf Omni: buyers who want a photometric unit for the lowest possible cost with zero recurring fees, are comfortable being early on a brand-new unit, and want GSPro or E6 without a subscription paywall.
- Bushnell Launch Pro Circle B: buyers who want proven Foresight accuracy and a stable software stack, accept an annual fee, and prefer FSX (or GSPro on Gold) over the Omni's software companion.
The verdict
The Omni is the more disruptive box: cheapest reputable indoor/outdoor camera unit to date, no recurring cost, real GSPro support. The Circle B is the safer one: higher measured accuracy, years of owner data, and a subscription tier that finally makes the sim add-on affordable. Buy the Omni if you value the lowest all-in cost and are willing to be early. Buy the Circle B on Silver if you want the proven platform and a working sim stack for $199/yr.
